The purpose of this article is to show you how to trade EquiHash/Zcash mining power on NiceHash in exchange for BTC during those times when you don't have work for your HashCat GPU Cracking Rig.  The target OS is Kali Rolling ~2016.2.  We will download the miner then set it up as a systemd service to run at boot and also restart itself if the process was to crash.  I also made a repo on GitHub related to this project: https://github.com/exploitagency/github-cryptocurrency

First make directories and download NiceHash EQM Miner:

mkdir ~/Bitcoin
cd Bitcoin
wget https://www.nicehash.com/tools/eqm_v1.0.4c_Linux_Ubuntu16.zip
unzip eqm_v1.0.4c_Linux_Ubuntu16.zip
rm eqm_v1.0.4c_Linux_Ubuntu16.zip
mv eqm_v1.0.4c_Linux_Ubuntu16 eqm
cd eqm
vi eqm.sh

Press 'i' for insert and Copy/Paste contents of file below(Paste:Ctrl+Shift+v) then Save/Close(Press ESC, then type ':wq' and press Enter)
Edit BTC wallet address with that of your own and for multiple GPUs edit '-cd 0 0' to '-cd 0 0 1 1', '-cd 0 0 1 1 2 2', etc
#/root/Bitcoin/eqm/eqm.sh

#!/bin/sh
tmux new-session -d -s miner '/root/Bitcoin/eqm/eqm_ubuntu_16 -l usa -t 0 -u 1Fu1pd5BuzjmthMXBa6LzByfa7X2VFUyrw -w worker -cd 0 0'

Make it executable:

chmod +x eqm.sh

Setup the systemd service:

vi /etc/systemd/system/eqm.service

Press 'i' for insert and Copy/Paste contents of file below(Paste:Ctrl+Shift+v) then Save/Close(Press ESC, then type ':wq' and press Enter)
#/etc/systemd/system/eqm.service

[Unit]
Description=Start EQM Miner
Documentation=man:syslog-ng(8)

[Service]
User=root
Type=forking
ExecStart=/bin/sh /root/Bitcoin/eqm/eqm.sh
StandardOutput=null
Restart=always
RestartSec=3

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

You only need to run the following commands once and then they are persistent across reboots.

Reload systemd daemon:

systemctl daemon-reload

Enable eqm to run at startup:

systemctl enable eqm.service

Start the eqm.service:

systemctl start eqm.service

The miner is now setup and running, persistent across reboots and crashes.

To view EQM miner's output/progress at anytime connect to the tmux session with:

tmux attach -t miner

To exit tmux session but leave session running in background press 'Ctrl+b' then release and press 'd'

And finally when your ready to stop mining so you can get back to cracking hashes run:

systemctl stop eqm.service

And when done cracking you can start the miner again using:

systemctl start eqm.service

If this article helped you then feel free to donate to the BTC address below or set your rig to mine for a while at the address listed in the article. We greatly appreciate all contributions!
